Hooked on a Feeling

This weekend, like all of them, was busy and went by too fast as usual. I've been trying to beat a head cold since last Wednesday and I think I needed this weekend to help recuperate.

Bruce had his few seconds of fame Friday on NBC5 when they reported on how screwed up FWISD's payroll department has been since the rollout of their new payroll software.

Saturday, I took Taylor, Melanie and Mackenzie to eat at the Purple Cow and then to Disney on Ice.

The girls had a great time and I think I found me a better paying job while I was there: Sales --of Cotton Candy! $10 per bag!?!? I'm not sure how long intermission was --but I think those guys made a pretty good days worth of wages in those few minutes!

Sunday was Tyson's 8th Birthday that was celebrated at Alley Cats in Arlington! He and his friends had a great time bowling, playing in the arcade and a friendly game of laser tag!

And last but not least, the reason for the heading of this post! When I woke up this morning, I felt Kaitlyn moving quiet a bit, not just from the inside, but with my hand on my stomach I could feel her! I haven't experienced that yet so that was pretty exciting!! 118 days to go!

School Drop-Off

I cannot belive it's the end of March 2009 already! Where do the days go?

This morning Taylor asked to take some of the baby clothes to school to show her teacher and her classmates. We decided it would be ok if she took the outfits and the bibs she had picked out from Baby's R Us. She folded them neatly and carefully and placed them in her bag ooing and awing at how cute they are. Meanwhile, I had taken the two outfits that Bruce and I each picked out and placed them in a seperate bag so I could take them to show my co-workers.
As we arrived at school, I walked Taylor in; she's not to the age yet where she's uncomfortable to have good-bye hugs or kisses. We said our good-byes and I met her teacher at the door as I was leaving. The teacher congratulated me on having a girl and I could see Taylor was beaming with excitement to show her teacher the outfits she had stashed away in her bag. I asked Taylor if she'd like to run back out to the car since her teacher had gotten there and show her the other sets of clothes. If there was a way I could take a mason jar and capture the smiles and excitement Taylor has now, I would quickly put the lid on and store the jars in her keepsake box so that she could have this feeling later in life. Seeing her excitement about having a baby sister has made this experience that much more exciting for me. She loves to put an ear to my tummy to see what she can hear (which I think may only be growling!)!

Spring Break

This is Bruce's first spring break as an ISD employee. Having everyone off for this week was really nice. Bruce began and ended the week with his favorite past time - -FISHING! He went Monday to Lake Athens with a co-worker while I visited with old friends and the dentist in Mineral Wells.

Wednesday evening we spent a fun-filled evening at Dave and Busters bringing home loads of tickets in hopes of a BIG prize one day!

Thursday Taylor got to be a Mad Scientist at Lone Star Gymnastics for the day making some really gross slime and a really cool apron and learning all kinds of fun gymnastics! Later that evening, we went and watched Race to Witch Mountain.

Friday, Taylor played Cowgirl at Benbrook Stables Horse Camp. Bruce has a double header at the softball fields that night and the Winos won both games!!

Saturday Bruce played 8 games of 3 on 3 basketball in a tournament in Weatherford. Somehow he still had enough energy to do some late night fishing. Taylor got to spend the night with Pa and Ga and some of her cousins.

Latest Developments

We're now 22 weeks pregnant with a baby girl! We had a dr's appointment on March 11th to determine what we are having. Taylor went with me and she was SUPER excited to hear and see it is going to be a girl! She said God has answered her prayers! In the same breath, she wanted to know if we could go to babys r us..which we did! She picked out some cute "I'm a little sister" and "Daddy's Sweet Heart" outfits to take to Bruce's work so that we could clue him in on the sex. Those outfits were later followed by some much needed camo and some other cute necessities! I have been feeling some flutters and they seem to be more frequent. I do notice them about 8:00 - 8:30 each evening and when I wake up in the morning.

We're fairly certain her name will be Kaitlyn!

Over spring break, we went and bought the baby furniture. It's all moved in and setup now. Taylor and I put the crib together with the finishing touches from Daddy himself.

Above is a picture of the furnitue --that isn't our room though and we didn't get the hutch with the dresser.
