2010 Begins

Can you believe it's been a decade since everyone wondered if they should be stock piling water and food for Y2K?  I have been reflecting how my life has transpired since then.  I have turned a job into a  career.  I have snorkeled in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean several times, stood on frozen lakes in Minnesota and South Dakota, seen the ball drop in New York City for new years eve and even seen the red carpet in Hollywood.  I witnessed the overwhelming, emotional homecomeing of United States Soliders from War in Iraq.  I have traveled by land, air and sea.  I have developed relationships as a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a wife, and now a mother.  The past ten years have been fullfilling and filled with experiences of a lifetime.  I feel pretty confident that the next decade's experiences and events will top anything I've even seen though.  What an exciting time in life.

This year Bruce went to the deer lease New Year's eve with Paul Herring and Chris Morton.  With all of the snow the ground was pretty soggy and they ended up getting stuck in the mud.  They had to call a tow truck to get them out.  Then the tow truck got stuck.

The weather turned so cold this month that our pool had about 2 inches of ice on it.  I don't recall ever seeing Texas have single digit temperatures like we have had this year.  Below is chunks of ice from the pool on January 10th.

Taylor started playing basketball this season.  She really developed into a great little defense player!

Kaitlyn and I went to Tyson's luncheon for his art work he entered into the Fort Worth Stock Show was also this month.  He found out he won 3rd place and $75!!

Kaitlyn is now 1/2 a year!! Can you believe it?!  At her 6 month check up she weighed 12lbs even and was 23 and 3/4" long.  She  is rolling all over the place to get to where she wants to be and babbling up a storm.  She doesn't have an indoor voice just yet.  I think her top two teeth are begining to make their way in.  The Dr. said she's a little worried that she's not growing more but she was 99% sure she was fine since she's developing so much in all other areas.  Dr. Stadtler said that we needed to make an appointment with a genenics dr just for that 1% chance there's some reason.  We think she takes after Bruce's side of the family and is just small.  However, I went ahead and made an appointment for the first part of April.  The dr. also suggested that we add formula to her diet in additon to all of the food she's been eating.  She's taken to the formula very well!
